Innovative technology

Aquaturu utilizes advanced technology to efficiently disinfect the process water in recirculated aquaculture systems (RAS) or in traditional fish farms. The effectiveness is achieved by creating a controlled electrical field in the water-flow, where power is used to treat the water directly. A market-disrupting, cost-effective and innovative way of disinfecting water compared to traditional technologies such as UV or ozone.

Effectiveness

The treatment kills and prevents the proliferation of a wide range of microscopic organisms including bacteria, virus parasites and algae, leading to substantially reduced bacteria and algae level and thereby minimizing biofilm build-up on bottom and sides in aquaculture units. Leading to fewer work processes in a healthier working environment.

Sustainable water treatment and -consumption

Aquaturu aims at reducing the need for excessive use of chemicals, in aquaculture, ensuring an environmentally responsible and sustainable water treatment regime. Furthermore, an investment in Aquaturu equipment is economically reasonable taking the lowered consumption of chemicals into account. It enables a higher degree of recirkulation and lower the water intake.

Less need for medicating stock

Due to Aquaturu’s ability to lower the overall bacterial- and algae pressure, diseases triggered by a general stress of the stocked fish’s immune system can be counteracted. Aquaturu aims at lowering the need for medication of stock. Furthermore the risk of bacteria developing resistance to antibiotics is reduced when the consumption hereof is lowered.

Pure water leads to pure taste

Aquaturu’s equipment works in even very dirty water. Discolored tannin-stained drain- or bore water is treatable, and even brown water filled with suspended particles can be treated - no costly pre-filtration is needed. Recirculated water in RAS-systems or in traditional fish farms, will often show some level of discoloration rendering UV treatment useless or ineffective. High levels of Geosmin, which has a tendency to cause an unpleasant mud taste is lowered, improving the taste of the final product.

Nordic production

Aquaturu has chosen to initially have its products made in Denmark with an outsourcing partner. By being close to the production site, a uniform product quality is ensured. Aquaturu collaborates with selected suppliers directly and indirectly through the outsourcing partner to ensure a high focus on usability and sustainability.
